A taste of summer: Allan Scott releases its Marlborough sauvignon blanc 2012

AScott_Marl_SBlanc_2012Allan Scott has announced its 2012 Marlborough sauvignon blanc, which the winemaker says is ‘an intense wine which tightens up the palate, giving great length and dancing along to a clean mouth-watering finish—each glass a perfect celebration of summertime.’
As cooler weather arrives, one can revisit a fresh summer through the sauvignon blanc, which Allan Scott says is more intense, thanks to excellent weather in the later parts of the 2012 growing season. The grapes hung on the vines for two weeks longer than usual, giving the wine a stronger aroma.
One can expect passionfruit, dried herb, tomato leaf and capsicum aromatics.
The bottle and labelling have also been facelifted for the new sauvignon blanc, giving the wine a more premium look.
The Allan Scott Marlborough sauvignon blanc 2012 retails for NZ$21 and is available at Hancock’s, and online at www.allanscott.com.
