Logitech launches home XVGA webcam

Logitech has introduced a new line of webcams, including the C170 model, which can clip on to a laptop, or a desktop monitor. Like modern plug-in webcams, it can stand alone.

In addition, the software has built-in automatic noise reduction, Logitech’s Fluid Crystal technology for video smoother and sharper images, and a frame rate of up to 30 seconds and XVGA (1024 by 768 pixels) resolution. The C170 also takes 5 Mpixel stills.

The collection is available in four colours: dark black, Blades of Grass (green), Star Blast (yellow) and Pink Pebbles (pink), retailing at RRP NZ$39·90. A budget model, the C110, will be launched alongside it, but managing only 1·3 Mpixel photos and having fewer features.
